NEITASI LODGE

Neitasi lodge is situated at the north west end of Tegano Lake, East Rennell. Land transport will take you from Tigoa airfield West Rennell right to Neitasi lodge, unlike other accomodations in Tegano where you have to take a 10 -30 minutes boat ride.

Neitasi can accomodate 4 guests at one time, so advance booking is essential.

Modern cooking and toilet facilities are available for your convenience.

Water for cooking, drinking and cold shower is supplied through rain water tanks.

Neitasi lodge is just at the edge of Tevaitahe village so why not take a walk to the village and experience the simple yet more fulfiling life style.

At the magalanu shallow waters between Neitasi and Kiakoe lodge lie two WWll bombers that you might interest to explore.

 

KIAKOE lodge

Across Magalanu from Neitasi lodge, located Kiakoe lodge. KiaKoe lodge has been taking in guests since mid 90s and still today.

After arriving at the head road, where land transport terminates from Tigoa airfield West Rennell, a short boat ride will take you to the lodge.

There are 10 rooms currently available and can easily accomodates up to 20 guests at one time. Bookings are advisable, especially for large groups.

The only link to and from KiaKoe lodge is by boat powered by outboat motor. For the more adventurous visitors, dugout canoes are also available at request should you want to use it to move around the Taimate West Lake or as the new west lakers want to reffer to a West "L".

Modern cooking and toilet facilities are available for your convenience. Water for drinking, cooking and cold shower is supplied through rain water tanks.

In a tropical settigns like this, swimming is a perfect way to start and end a day, so while in the water, you might aswell snorkle down to the WWll relics at the near by magalanu waters for a peek of history.

 

HENUA-GOTO LODGE

About 5 kilometres South East on the shores of Tegano Lake from head road is Henua-Goto lodge. A two bungallo accommodation built out to the water from mainland is sure to give you the touch of paradise. Cooking and toilet facilities are readily available for your convenience. Water for cooking, drinking and cold shower is supplied by rain water tanks.

Should you wish to experience village life on Rennell, Henua-Goto Lodge is within walking distance to nearby Niupani village. Niupani village was the very place Tegano people encountered the life changing experience of conversion from Ancestry worship to Christianity, later spreed to the whole of Mugava (Rennell) and Mungiki (Bellona).

Your family and friends are never far away from you when you are here. Within walking distance from Henua-Goto is an ADSL internet station that one may access fast broadband internet service. Email home and let your family and friends know how you are enjoying your Tegano experience. The internet service also has wireless capabilities allowing you to use your own laptop, at your convenience. [ADSL internet facility is out of order at the moment]

 

EAST RENNELL HOME STAY ACCOMODATION

East Rennell (ER) Home Stay Accommodation is situated at Niupani village, one of the four villages along Tegano coastline. ER Home Stay Accomodation is approximately 5 kilometres from head road where land transport terminates, and takes firteen minutes boat ride to get there.

East Rennell Home Stay, accommodates 6 guests at a time and while you here, you are very much part of a friendly family.

Staying at ER home stay accommodation gives you the advantage of the ADSL internet service at the nearby Henua school, an ideal service to upload your latest shots of Tegano Lake and keep in touch with family and friends. [ADSL internet facility is out of order at the moment]

Water for drinking, cooking and cold shower is supplied through rain water tanks. Morden Kitchen and Toilet facilities are also available.

TEGANO LODGE

Tegano lodge is situated at the edge of Tegano village, futher up the South East shorelines of Tegano Lake, approximately 20 minutes boat ride from head road where land transport terminates.

Tegano lodge can accommodate up to 10 guests at one time, and it is always a good idea to make bookings in advance.

Water for drinking, cooking and cold shower is supplied through rain water tanks. Kitchen and Toilet facilities are available for your convenience.

Interested in bushwalking or beach activities? There is direct access by foot from Tegano lodge to Tuhugago beach.

 

KISA HOME STAY ACCOMODATION

Kisa Home Stay Accommodation is located at Tegano village. Originally a family home but then made available as an alternative accommodation for tourists and government workers visiting from the capital Honiara. This initiative proves a success as it accommodates a good number of guests since its establishment in 2004.

There are four rooms available that comfortably accommodate one or two persons at a time. Kitchen and modern toilet facilities available. Water for drinking, cooking and cold shower is supplied through rain water tanks.

Interested in bushwalking, beach activities or fishing at the beach? There is direct access by foot from kisa home stay to Tuhugago beach.

Meals

Breakfast - Hot milo with either biscuit or local baked bread or pancake

Lunch - Baked, roasted or milked taro and Potatoes with fish or chicken and greens plus fresh green-coconut drink.

Dinner - Baked, roasted or milked taro and potatoes with fish or chicken and greens, pumpkin soup and rice.

The above meals are only a guide to what is locally available otherwise there would be more local recipes to try out.

Lake Tegano tour   

To complete a real Tegano experience, is a tour around the Lake. Visit places of historical significance such as War II relics, ancient gods and tabu sites, bird sanctuary, and more so, experience first hand the natural beauty of Tegano. Advice your host prior to arriving if you're interested.

 

MATA’AKE LODGE

Mata’ake Lodge is located futher South East along the Tegano coastline near Hutuna village. Mata'ake lodge can accommodate 10 guests at one time.

It takes approximately 30 minutes by boat ride from the head road. A good refreshing ride where one can breathe in the soothing air of this tropical paradise.

Modern Kitchen and Toilets facilities are readily available. Water for drinking, cooking and cold shower is supplied by rain water tanks. More refreshing drinking water can also be collected from a near by spring.

 

MORENO GUEST HOUSE - WEST RENNELL

Moreno Guest House is located at the west end of Tigoa air field runway at West Rennell. Moreno can easily accommodates a large number of guests but for the seek of organising, it is advicable to make advance bookings. Moreno has a large conference room ideal for workshops and Training. Modern kitchen and Toilet/shower facilities are available for your convinience. Water for drinking, cooking and cold shower is supplied through rain water tanks.

Moreno is in walking distance to the Rennell Bellona Provincial Head Quater, Tupuaki station. Solomon Telekom has recently install telecomunication and internet services in Tupuaki which makes it more convinient to keep in touch with family and friends while visiting these beautiful islands.

 

NUKU-MA'ANU GUEST HOUSE - WEST RENNELL

Nuku-ma'anu Guest House is also situated in West Rennell near the Tigoa Air Strip. Nuku-ma'anu accomodation can accomodates a good number of guests, so it is certain that there will be a room for you but advance booking helps avoid last minute hassles.
